Welcome

Taylor Hall is my favorite player ever. Rebuilding since 2006. I have animosity towards Tyler Seguin.

Deadline Day Approaching

Going into the All-Star break the Oilers sit 29th in the NHL, with 41 Pts. The Lottery looks like this....

26 - Buffalo
27 - Carolina
28 - Anaheim
29 - Oilers
30 - Columbus

The players on the current roster that I see as potential trade bait are Hemsky, Gagner, and Sutton.

Hemsky
Teams that could use him - Pittsburgh, Detroit, Nashville, San Jose, and LA.

Gagner
Teams that could use him - Chicago, Nashville, San Jose, and Phoenix.

Sutton
Teams that could use him - Rangers, Chicago, Philadelphia, Ottawa, and New Jersey.
For Sutton, I think we're looking at a 3rd if we're lucky, a 4th or 5th is what we'll get.

Lets throw out some proposals to mull about until the 27th...

To Pittsburgh - Hemsky, To Edmonton - Simon Despres + 2nd/Joseph Morrow + 3rd
To Detroit - Hemsky, To Edmonton - Jakub Kindl + 2nd/1st + 2nd
To Nashville - Hemsky, To Edmonton - Jonathan Blum + 2nd/Ryan Ellis + 3rd
To Nashville - Gagner, To Edmonton - Charles Roussel/Mattias Ekholm
To San Jose - Hemsky, To Edmonton - 1st + Taylor Doherty
To San Jose - Gagner, To Edmonton - 1st
To LA - Hemsky, To Edmonton - Alec Martinez + 1st/Kyle Clifford + 1st
To Chicago - Gagner, To Edmonton - Michael Frolik/Brandon Saad/Dylan Olsen + 3rd
To Phoenix - Gagner, To Edmonton - Mikkel Boedker/David Schlemko + 3rd/Brandon Gormley

Do these deals improve Edmonton today? Maybe Gagner for one of those roster players, if the change of scenery boosts the players confidence. Once again, Tambellini will stock up on young talent and/or selections for Stu, though.

One step backwards, two steps forward?
