Welcome

Taylor Hall is my favorite player ever. Rebuilding since 2006. I have animosity towards Tyler Seguin.

Devan Dubnyk is making head way!

According to NHL.com, Devan Dubnyk ranks 24th overall in save-percentage in the regular season. 18th if you're looking at goalies with a minimum of 40 games played, aka your starters. Dubnyk is young, and so far his play has not stagnated. Devan shows promise to develop into a consistent top 20 goaltender, maybe more. He's got the size, pedigree and skill. If the Oilers can keep signing him for contracts under $3.5 million per, the Edmonton Oilers will receive goaltending at a bargain.

In a cap world, getting more than what you pay for is how you gain edges on other teams. The more bargain contracts you have, the better chance you have at winning Stanley. The Chicago Blackhawks were stacked, and received dominating performances from players on ELC's (Toews and Kane). The Oilers didn't have the mental capacity to notice this, and with that, we will probably miss the playoffs next year and have no hope at making a cup run with Jordan Eberle on a $1.5 million cap hit.

Anyway, as an Oiler fan, I hope to hell Dubnyk can maintain an improvement next year and at least stay consistent with that. Going forward the Oilers will have a starting goalie young enough to be apart of the core...

I hope.
